GAIL Launches Domestic PNG Supply in Bhubaneswar under National PNG Drive 2.0

Bhubaneswar: GAIL India Limited has commenced Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG) supply at N-6, IRC Village, Nayapalli in Bhubaneswar, marking a significant milestone under the National PNG Drive 2.0 initiative. The launch on April 13 coincided with the city’s 78th Capital Foundation Day, adding further significance to the occasion.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament from Bhubaneswar, who formally flagged off the gas supply as the chief guest. The event was attended by senior officials, including Kausik Das, General Manager (CGD & OIC), along with representatives from GAIL’s City Gas Distribution (CGD) team and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, Kausik Das highlighted the advantages of Domestic PNG, including its safety, convenience, and uninterrupted availability. He also outlined GAIL’s roadmap to expand piped gas connectivity across the locality, reaffirming the company’s commitment to delivering clean and efficient energy solutions to urban households.

Speaking on the occasion, Aparajita Sarangi encouraged residents to adopt PNG, sharing her own positive experience as a user. She emphasized the fuel’s benefits such as cost-effectiveness, reliability, and environmental sustainability, urging households to transition to this cleaner energy alternative.

The rollout of DPNG supply at N-6, IRC Village represents a key step in GAIL’s broader mission to promote eco-friendly energy infrastructure across Indian cities. Under the National PNG Drive 2.0, the company aims to accelerate access to piped natural gas, enhancing quality of life while supporting the country’s clean energy goals.
